Kurt Durrwachter
Kurt Durrwachter, a seasoned professional with over 24 years of experience in the financial industry, is the Managing Director and Senior Wealth Advisor leading Dakota’s Sartell, Minnesota office. Kurt brings a wealth of experience managing teams and cultivating client relationships. Known for earning people’s trust, he is recognized as a big-picture strategic thinker and a straightforward, honest communicator.
Kurt’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to launch Ledge Wealth Management in 2010 with 40 clients and $12 million in assets. Over the course of 13 years, he successfully steered the firm to merge with Dakota, bringing in over $400 million in assets for more than 300 families and servicing over 2,000 plan participants, including managing more than $200 million in retirement plan assets.
Kurt’s journey in the financial sector began in 1998, and over the years, he has honed his skills and expertise, earning recognition as a Top 40 Advisor consistently from 2016 through 2020. Kurt is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, a distinction awarded by the CFP® Board of Standards, Inc. Additionally, he holds the title of Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist℠, a designation earned through Denver’s College of Financial Planning. Kurt earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota.
Living in Sartell with his wife Krista and their three children, Eddie, George, and Lyla, Kurt draws inspiration from his family.
