Carly Mcallister
Carly Mcallister is Associate General Counsel at Dakota, where she advises on legal, compliance, and governance matters within a highly regulated financial services environment. She partners with senior leadership to support disciplined decision-making and to help ensure the firm’s operations align with evolving legal and regulatory expectations.
Carly began her legal career clerking at Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeal, gaining direct exposure to judicial reasoning and appellate analysis. Prior to joining Dakota, she practiced in complex commercial litigation, managing high stakes matters through resolution and developing a reputation for strategic judgment under pressure and pragmatic risk management.
In addition to her role at Dakota, Carly is an active educator and writer in the legal field. She regularly presents to attorneys, staff, and law students on strategy, ethics, and emerging legal and regulatory issues, and has authored both scholarly and practical publications. Most importantly, Carly serves on the Board of Directors for Annie’s Choice, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention of teen suicide and mental health support through awareness, education, and resources for underserved youth.
Carly earned her Juris Doctor cum laude, graduating early, and serving as an editor on law review, and she holds a Bachelor of Arts in History, magna cum laude. She is admitted to practice law in Florida and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. Outside of work, Carly enjoys traveling, swimming, reading, and yoga.
